  • How to Dress a Zombie for Engagement Photos

It was a little bit chilly when these engagement photos were taken so it was kind of a challenge to find something cool to wear to the photo shoot without making our layers of clothing look like a stuffed spring roll. Considering how last-minute our outfit picking was (we only rummaged through what we had in our closets the night before), I think we looked pretty cool-in-an-artsy-sort-of-way.

Anyway, here is how you dress a Zombie for engagement photos:

    Mr. Zombie:
    - The pants were from Trash and Vaudeville in NYC. I bought it for Mr. Zombie the last time I went there. They actually sport a very subtle red pin-stripe pattern.
    - The Freddie Kruger sweater was from a store in Ottawa. It's awesome and nerdy.
    - The suit jacket was a present from Alex's parents. It still had some fake blood in it from the Zombie Walk proposal.
    - The shoes are Sailor Jerry Chuck Taylors. Mr. Zombie wears nothing else but chucks. These are his happy shoes.

    Miss Zombie:
    - Both the skirt and jacket were from NYC-based designers Beebop & Wally. They have a little makeshift shop in Soho, but have also traveled to Toronto for the One of a Kind Show. I love their clothes!
    - The mini-beret was from le Petit Beret. This was the only thing I bought specifically for the engagement photos since I have such the fetish for mini-hats.
    - The shoes are brown pin-stripe Chuck Taylors.
    - The felt button pin was from Princess Lasertron (who recently plugged the photos on her blog! Thanks!). If you ever find any excuse to buy a button flower, buy one. They will change your life.
    - The scarf was knitted by a friend of Mr. Zombie's as a "congratulations on registering your business" present. The logo is actually his production company's logo. I wore it to pimp him out.
    - The necklace was a duplicate Tokidoki Cactus Pup toy that I had lying around in my apartment. I made it into a necklace for toy-love-representin'.
